Wet Floatation Therapy FAQs

What do I wear?

You can wear what you are comfortable wearing, however the goal is to wear the least amount possible or float nude. Combined with the specific water temperature, your brain will begin to shut down its proprioception, or awareness in space, allowing for the deepest possible state of mind.

Do I need to bring anything?

No. We provide everything you will need for an amazing experience, from your own private room and shower, to body wash, shampoo, and conditioner and towels. The only thing to bring is a desire to rest, relax, and recover.

What temperature is the water?

96 Degrees or skin temperature. Once the pod is closed, your skin, the water, and the air will all be the same temp, effectively shutting off awareness of where you are and where the water and air begin. This is needed for the greatest outcomes for body and mind. Anything less than that temp will prevent the brain from shutting down fully.

How to I prepare for my 1st float?

The main thing to do is to abstain from caffeine for at least two hours prior to floating. Also have a little something to eat about an hour ahead of time, so you don’t listen to a gurgling stomach during the float.

What if I’m afraid of tight spaces?

With our pods, you have the freedom to keep the lid open all of the way or shutting it part way. Of course we recommend fully closing it for the greatest outcomes. Laying in our pods is like laying in your own bed at night, looking at the ceiling. If that bothers you, you will want to have the lid open. Otherwise, you will be pleasantly surprised about how large the pods are on inside.

Are there reasons to NOT float?

You will need to wait for two weeks following coloring of your hair. Also ask your stylist if you can float with extensions. You should also wait to float until a tattoo is fully healed. Medically, no open wounds, cuts, or rashes. Wait at least 2 weeks following a surgery or until the incision is fully healed.

Cryotherapy FAQs

What do I wear?

You can come with your normal clothing to your appointment. If wearing a bra, make sure that it does not have a metal wire in it or bring a sports-bra with you. Otherwise, we supply the socks, slippers, and gloves that you will wear in the chamber, and the robe you will wear from the dressing room to the chamber.

Am I alone in the room?

No. A staff member will always be in the room with you to monitor your progress and your vitals signs (pulse and blood-oxygen level). The units we use are specifically chosen due to their highest level of safety for the client. Staff must push a “present” button every 30 seconds throughout your session.

How cold does it get?

The air around you can get as cold as -220 degrees. However it will not even feel as cold as a cold shower. The difference is that it is a dry cold, versus wet. This allows for a safer and more enjoyable experience. Women usually start around -160 degrees and men at -180 degrees, adjusting as able.

How do I prepare for my cryo?

The best thing to do is to not assume it will hurt or be too cold. When completed, everyone says “wow, that went fast” or “that was not nearly as cold as I thought it would feel.” This is due to use taking care of the entire process for maximum comfort and maximum results.

Will it hurt? Will I shiver?

No. It will be very cold, building up more cold as the minutes go by, but you should not even hit shivering stage. Shivering is the body’s reflex to warm itself, or its fight or flight reflex. This may occur, and that is okay. When you get out, allow the body’s own metabolism to warm itself back up, effectively burning up to 600 calories over the next few hours.

Are there reasons to NOT cryo?

There are certain health conditions that may prevent you from completing cryotherapy. We will ask you these prior to your first visit. If you have something on the list, you should consult with your physician prior to completing your session.

Sauna FAQs

What do I wear?

For the best experience, it is recommended to wear as minimal clothing as possible or sauna in the nude. You will be provided with towels to provide a minimal barrier between you and the sauna walls.

Can more than one person be in the sauna?

Yes, if you know them. You may have more than one person in the sauna, but you will never be in the sauna with someone that you do not know. It is you private experience and you want to get the most out of it: sometimes that includes great company.

Will I get too hot?

No. You have complete control over the temperature. It is recommended that you start at 120 degrees or more but if you are not experienced with heat, you may need to work into it. It is a comfortable heat, just as is the heat that you get from the Sun: infrared heat. It is also advisable to always drink water during and after the sauna.

How do I prepare for my 1st sauna?

Simply come hydrated and ready to relax. You will want to wear comfortable clothing and know that you may continue to sweat (if you do) even after you are out of the sauna, so prepare for that. Otherwise, we take care of everything for you.

Will I sweat?

It depends. The goal of a sauna is not to sweat, just as sweating is not the goal of exercise. It is a byproduct. Depending upon many factors, such as hydration level, time of day, etc. you may sweat or you may not. We do not want to sweat and just get dehydrated. Instead, let the light do what it was intended to do.

Are there reasons to NOT sauna?

Yes. There are many medical conditions that would prevent or at least not be advisable to use the sauna. If you are susceptible to heat exhaustion or any other heat induced condition, you should consult with you physician before attempting.
